If this post is regarding my question, then I was asking about your French shootin medal.
France, silver, engraving on rewarding for participating in shooting competitions in 1905. The medal was struck much earlier.
Out of curiosity Rey and maybe it is the translation that is incorrect for me but why do you believe your medal was struck much earlier than 1905?
Diskus, congratulations on your Geneve medal, it is a wonderful example.
Here are the 2 that I have - Вот те 2, которые у меня есть -
R625a Geneve 3e Abbaye des Carabiniers AR 43mm Mintage: 100 RR Engraver: Charles Jean Richard, Geneve

R1811a Zurich Cantonal Meisterschaft 1933 AR 30mm X 39mm Rarity: R Engraver: PEKA - Paul Kramer
This medal is as awarded without the jeweler's bezel as seen in the Richter catalog.

Notes: These medals were only awarded with engraving, which makes them unique. The only differences, however, are the different years on the obverse and the engraving on the reverse.
I just acquired this beautiful and extraordinarily rare medal. I was aware of the rim imperfections but due to the fact that there are only 8 of them and each is unique in regards to the engraving, I was happy to purchase it. My Father has 1 in FDC condition and now I have 1 too. Between us, we own 25% of the total population!
Though some people have stated in the past that they don't think this is a good looking medal, I have always been somewhat fascinated by it. I purchase when I can as long as the price is right.
Richter states there is an Essai/Pattern piece made of pb/sn with a rarity of RRRR. With the essai being made of pb/sn (Lead and/or pewter alloy) the weight would likely be somewhat different than a silver example. Also, the appearance of the piece would probably "look" different to an experienced eye.
I say all this because there is a possibility that the stamped ES stands for essai. But weight and appearance of the metal of the coin/medal is certainly most important in this theory.
The third medal in this thread! with a circulation of 50 pcs. Some coins with tens of thousands of copies are held once in ten years, and here such a repeatability.
Not the rarest medal I own but it is a beautiful one. The engraving is extremely artistic with very high relief, plus it is in great condition, the medal looks better in hand than the picture.
R1801c 1909 Winterthur, Zurich Very rare, seldom seen in bronze.
1909 Winterthur, canton Zürich R1801c / M1079 Cantonal Shoot BR 23 mm Engraver: Hans Frei, Basel Mintage: unknown RR
While I personally have handled at least 4 of the silver counterparts with a recorded mintage of 78, and my Dad even a few more, this is the first time either of us has seen this medal in bronze other than listed in the catalog such as Ricther and Martin. The opportunity was there. Being the only one I have ever seen, I was also lucky enough. Needless to say, I am extremely happy to get it.
I do apologize for my reply which has seemed to angered you in some way. If I was only more experienced perhaps I would know more of what I am talking about.
Again, please accept my humble apologies.

Firstly, the PCGS office has a huge experience in working with the Swiss shooting medals, see the list of "weakened medals". Secondly, I have never been told by anyone that this is a normal blow, we discussed a test specimen or an "improved shock" ie "sample". In the third, the medal was looked at by an experienced collector under a microscope, there were no complaints. And in the fourth I do not really care about the letters SP. this is a free application to the ideal state of the medal. If I held on to everything that was written on the weaker, I would not have opened it and examined the object under a microscope. Yes, and write PCGS your claims, your pictures do not open.
